Squaredot is a marketing agency that specialises in working in the Managed Service Provider sector. As part of their own social media content strategy, Media Mill was hired by Squaredot to produce a series of short informational videos that highlight different marketing terms and strategies to prospective clients in the MSP space.
The complex terminology and information that features in this video series necessitated the use of a teleprompter to help deliver the content to camera. While Squaredot was responsible for researching and writing the core content, Media Mill assisted with structuring the scripts in a manner which would complement the video format.
Squaredot needed a series of informational videos produced to highlight their expertise in the field of B2B and MSP marketing strategies. These videos would be delivered to camera, and employ the use of supporting graphics and text to help reinforce the information being conveyed. The videos would feature primarily on LinkedIn.
Media Mill and Squaredot had a series of meetings to lock in the overall scope and style of the video series. The depth of information that was to be conveyed necessitated the use of slightly longer videos as well as the need for a teleprompter. Media Mill also carried out a location scout ahead of the shoot and identified the lack of curtains by the main window as a potential issue for lighting control depending on weather conditions. Blackout flags were sourced for the shoot day as failsafe option if needed.
Setup for the shoot employed a standard 3-point lighting setup as well as utilising some of the onsite tabletop lamps to add extra interest to the overall shot. Depth was achieved by zooming in to 70mm at a wide aperture, with the frame being balanced by moving around some of the furniture. Once the teleprompter text size and speed were fine tuned to suit the speaker’s style, we proceeded to capture multiple takes of each video to allow for different editing options.
Working alongside the Squaredot marketing department to ensure that all brand guidelines were adhered to, Media Mill build a selection of animated graphics templates to complement the information being delivered in the videos. These were intercut with the best takes of each section of each video to create the final end result. Upon sign off of each video, subtitles were added along with bespoke thumbnails.
