RJET Creative Cutting is a waterjet cutting and design business based in Dublin. As part of a brand refresh led by GUERRILLA, Media Mill produced a new promotional video for Rjet that would feature on their new website and social channels.
Creating a video showcasing Rjet’s services posed a unique set of challenges, as the shoot took place in a live manufacturing environment with heavy machinery in operation. Media Mill took great care when filming the project to ensure the health and safety of all crew, all the time keeping spirits high so that everyone enjoyed the filming experience.
GUERRILLA required a fresh promotional video for their client, Rjet Creative Cutting, which would act as the main anchor of their new website. The video had to showcase Rjet’s technical expertise, facilities and artistic flair.
From the outset, the nature of Rjet’s industry meant that health and safety would be top priority during the planning of this filming project. To minimise disruption to the manufacturing process and avoid a crowded shop floor, it was agreed that filming would take place during a Saturday afternoon. This also meant less audio interference from machinery when conducting the interview. Media Mill was given a ‘virtual’ tour of the factory ahead of time to help scope out filming locations and identify key shots. A selection of interview questions was also agreed upon between Media Mill, Rjet and GUERRILLA.
With all of the prep work done, the shoot was relatively quick with all interview and B-Roll material captured in a handful of hours. As per the plan, Media Mill was able to capture the entire manufacturing process from start to finish with a ‘demo’ project being designed, processed, cut and assembled for the sake of the video.
The post-production phase involved editing the footage into a short video less than 2 minutes long. Animated supporting graphics were created in accordance with Rjet’s new brand guidelines, and editing feedback was actioned in consultation with both Rjet and GUERRILLA.
The finished video features prominently on the new Rjet website, helping contribute to a low bounce rate. A slightly altered version of the video was also created for use on social media to draw attention to the brand refresh.
Rjet’s promotional video introduces viewers to the owners of the business and their passion for designing creative, precision cuts using the power of waterjet cutting across a wide range of materials.
