As the hospitality industry in Ireland tackle sustainability challenges, Aqua Libra used a client testimonial video to highlight how their Alto refill and hydration stations have helped The Gleneagle Hotel eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles.
The video telling the story of Aqua Libra’s innovative solutions at The Gleneagle involved a lot of planning and consultation with the marketing departments of both businesses to ensure that both were represented according to their respective brand guidelines.
Aqua Libra needed a client testimonial video filmed onsite at The Gleneagle Hotel, showcasing the hotels facilities and their Alto refill stations. The main video would be up to 5 minutes in length, with a shorter ‘teaser’ made for use on social media. A selection of high-resolution photos of the hydration stations also had to be captured for promotional and cataloguing purposes.
Media Mill conducted pre-planning discussions with Aqua Libra to understand their objectives and the key shots that had to be captured. A detailed shooting schedule was developed, along with a pre-screened series of questions for the testimonial interview to ensure that the full context of the story was delivered for the target audience.
Given the size of the Gleneagle Hotel, the main challenge was ensuring that all material was captured in a timely manner. The shoot was split into 4 phases – Interview, B-Roll Capture 1, Lunch and B-Roll Capture 2. Filming the interview first allowed for taking notes on specific B-Roll shots to be captured based on the testimony given, as interview answers can often provide anecdotal details that may not otherwise be foreseen. The lunch break between the two B-Roll shoots also allows for data backups to be run as a failsafe. Once all the required video shots were captured, a final ‘lap’ of the hotel was done to get the necessary photo collateral.
The interview acted as the main ‘anchor’ for this project, with the full unedited interview coming in at approximately 45mins in length. The bulk of the post-production phase involved distilling down the core information from the interview into the 5min timeframe as laid out in the brief, while still keeping the ability to tell the story in its totality. A series of edit revisions then ensured that the end results adhered to the brand guidelines of both Aqua Libra and The Gleneagle Hotel.
The testimonial videos and supporting photos successfully told the story of how Aqua Libra hydration stations enhanced the guest experience at The Gleneagle Hotel. The ‘teaser’ video was posted to LinkedIn to drive traffic to Aqua Libra’s in-depth Case Study (include link) section on their website, which features prominent use of all of the photo and video collateral that Media Mill created.
